Last Saturday March 28th, ERRA and Currents brought their co-headliner run through House of Blues Chicago alongside Caskets and Aviana; night one completely sold out before doors even opened. With a second date lined up, this first show felt like the tone-setter; and from the jump, it was clear nobody in the building was treating it like a warm up.

Aviana

Aviana came out swinging; no easing into it, no feeling it out... just straight into that dark & crushing tone they’ve been refining. Unfortunately the sold out crowd on top of the early start time, I missed the first three songs, so no photos, but the set was good, even from someone completely unfamiliar with their music before the night began.

Caskets

Caskets did what they do best; pulled things back emotionally without killing the momentum.

Coming off "The Only Heaven You'll Know," their latest release continues to push that polished post-hardcore sound; melodic, clean, and built around hooks that stick without feeling overproduced. Live, it gave the room a second to breathe; but not in a way that slowed anything down. I've been following this band throughout the various name changes & changebacks, but have yet to catch them live yet. As tour tends to do to vocalists, their LV did miss a few big notes on runs, as well as had supporting vocal backtracks. I felt it would have served them better to throw a little bit of pitch correction and ditch the pre-recorded backing vocals as the pitch discrepancy is even more audible with them both going at the same time.

Despite that, the set was good overall with people singing along, phones up, but still fully locked in. The transition between bands actually worked in the show’s favor here; it made everything feel more dynamic instead of one-note heavy the entire time(though the heavy parts did make the connection stick even better).

Currents

I've seen this band 3 seperate times, and Currents hit like they always do; direct & unapologetic.

With their latest release, "All That Follows", building on the foundation of "The Death We Seek," their sound continues to sit in that space between atmosphere and aggression; big emotional builds paired with breakdowns that actually land. Between metalcore & straight up "djent" Currents finds its natural habitat. Live, it translates exactly how it should; immediate movement, wider pits, and a crowd that went from engaged to FULLY locked in & crowdsurfing much more.

This was the point in the night where everything clicked; where it stopped feeling like separate sets and started feeling like one continuous experience. It absolutely makes sense, and this package couldn't have 2 better equipped co-headliners to mesh with each other. From start to finish, an amazing set from Currents(per usual).

ERRA

The first time I saw this band, it was at the original location of New Brookland Tavern in West Columbia, SC with Red Handed Denial, many years ago. Talk about "evolution as a band?!?!? Fresh off their 2026 release "silence outlives the earth" ERRA has leaned even further into that refined, intentional sound; still technical, still layered, but wayyyyyy sharper in execution. Live, every transition felt clean, every part hit exactly where it needed to, and nothing felt wasted. At this point, multiple people were crowdsurfing for each song, and the pit was open the entire set.

It wasn’t just heavy; it was controlled; the kind of set where you can tell everything is dialed in without it losing any of its edge whatsoever. Sold out House of Blues; packed from floor to balcony; and a crowd that stayed very consistent throughout the co-headliners' sets.

What made this show work wasn’t just the lineup on paper; it was how each band played their role without stepping on the next. Aviana set the weight; Caskets added the emotion; Currents brought the impact; ERRA tied it all together with precision. It flowed naturally; nothing forced, nothing dragging.

Night one set the tone; and if the second night carried even half of this energy, Chicago got exactly what it deserved out of this run. Make sure to check out the remainder of the tour here, and each bands most recent project at their respective sites.
